Bus bar

The bus bar is a conducting bar. A number of local feeders are connected to this bar. Insulation is provided to each bar from earth and they are kept at a constant voltage. There exist different varieties for bus bar when used in the electrical system. They are single bus bar arrangement, duplicate bus bar arrangement, sectionalisation bus bar arrangement, ring bus bar arrangement, mesh bus bar arrangement and half breaker bus bar arrangement. In a single bus bar arrangement, both the incoming and outgoing feeders are connected to a single bus bar. There exist two buses in duplicate bus bar arrangement. They are main bus and reserve bus. Maintenance is easy in sectionalisation bus bar arrangement where each section of the bus bar can be completely withdrawn from the circuit and the other can be kept within the circuit without any problem. All the sectionalized buses are connected in a ring to receive supply from any adjacent section in a ring bus bar arrangement. Circuit breakers are arranged in the mesh in a mesh bus bar arrangement.
